Small Businesses
Adam Belmares Caricatures is a small family owned business. Each member of my family contributes to an area of the business made up from each of our talents. Whether it is creating spectacular websites, awesome videos, or social media posts, we all have our role in this business.
In the last couple of months, I have had the opportunity to work with others who have started their own small business and have gotten their family involved. One of these families are the Linsners and today's blog is dedicated to them.
The Linsners took their love of toys, particularly building bricks, and bought a franchise that would allow them to buy, sell, and trade everything Lego. They opened up "Bricks and Mini Figs" in Crest Hill this February. Their whole family was involved. I had the pleasure of drawing caricatures at their grand opening. My son, my little assistant, helped by taking pictures and videos. The Linsners had a great crowd that day. Lots of happy faces and I was very happy to contribute to that.
BEFORE
AFTER
A small business starts with an idea. It is usually born in the basement of one's home. It takes someone's talent, skill, and desire to do something different. It's not always easy. There is a lot to learn, long hours, and financial risk. At the end of the day, you are responsible for your own success. Your business can grow as much as you want it to or as little as you want it to. The beauty of it all is that you will grow with it.
I know others who have been contemplating leaving their current jobs to start a small business of their own. I hope they pursue it. If they are going to do what they really enjoy, they will succeed. It is just like using Legos, that of which you take one brick at a time to build together, bringing an idea to life. If you have an idea, you can bring it to life too.
